Welcome to the Birmingham School of Architecture centenary celebrations.

The Birmingham School of Architecture was founded in 1908 as a branch of the School of Art with J.L Ball as its director.

A minute from the ‘Green Book’ from that year states:

The course in the proposed School would be spread over 4 or 5 years. The first two would be spent in day classes the last two or three at evening sessions. It is anticipated that the students who follow the course will be exempt from the Intermediate Examination of the RIBA” It was resolved to accept the proposal subject to 'receipt from the BAA of evidence that the scheme will receive support of Architects in the Midlands.

We are celebrating the anniversary with a series of events, most notably a Centenary Ball to be held at The Botanical Gardens on the evening of Saturday 2nd August 2008.

The School has a proud list of alumni that until now has never been fully recorded. Therefore, we ask you to kindly register as an ex student, staff member, friend of the school, or architectural practice. Once you have registered you will be able to buy tickets for the ball and also edit your profile so you can keep in touch with those long lost friends!

We look forward to you joining our alumni and hopefully seeing you at the Ball.

If you wish to purchase tickets, please register first.
